The mission of the National Museum is to offer heritage sources and an gratifying experience and an invaluable tourism resource to all people through high quality analysis, conservation, education and exhibitions. A passionate collector, Neumann amassed greater than 200 art works in his Vienna villa. When the Nazis occupied France, he fled by foot by way Art Galery of the Pyrenees to Spain. From there he reached Cuba, the place he settled, and took part within the 1954 founding of an art museum in Havana. He later moved to New York to be along with his daughter, and died there in 1961, age 82. Neumann’s artworks were seized by the Nazis, then launched shortly afterward to permit a sale to the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
